Riot gear

Rodrigo Sorogoyen, one of the best Spanish directors, with works such as As Bestas, El reino or Stockholm, surprises again with a mini series produced by Movistar plus,

The series shows us the problematic eviction of a home by a riot police team that ends with the death of an African immigrant. Based on this, an internal affairs team investigates what happened. Laia, one of the internal affairs agents, becomes obsessed with the case to the point of discovering a corruption plot that involves people in high places.

As positive highlights, the series has a frenetic pace that makes you not want to leave the television. It makes use of close shots that drown the viewer to feel the same as the characters. The cast does an excellent job and you come to believe each of the characters, with their motivations and ways of being. Vicky Luengo, the actress who plays Laia, plays an exceptional performance that stands out above the rest.

Something that was negative for me is the constant reference to names and surnames of people who are not in the scene and it makes everything a little more confusing and you don't know who is being talked about at that moment.

Likewise, I highly recommend the series. It is short, direct and with great work by both the technical team and the cast. Rodrigo Sorogoyen has done it again!
